I have a question about the following processor, which i have fitted

AMD Athlon 3200xp+

What processor speed should it be showing in "My Computer"??

Do you mean in 'System Properties' within 'My Computer'?

Mine shows as 2.19Ghz

Hi, Fellsider's speed is correct for the 3200.

Some people think that 3200 means 3.2gz - this is not the case.

yeah mines xp 3000, and reads 2.17ghz

Its just clocked i beleave from where you bought it

Hi, not so friend - it is just that Athon have a different way of 'naming' things.

AMD use what they call "quantispeed" to explain why clock speed on athlon is slower than pentiums.

So what AMD are basic saying in the case of your cpu is that with a CPU running at 2.17ghz they can match the performance of a 3.2ghz pentium four hence the 3200 number quoted.

Hope this helps

My XP 3200+ runs at 2.2GHz. 11x 200MHz fsb, 400DDR equivalent.
