Hi all, me yet again:-)

I have bought a SATAIII 6Gb/s M.2 SSD MTS600.

I was told it is a SATA drive which it may well be but it seems to require a socket directly into the mobo. I have not opened the package as I may have to return it but reading the instructions on the outside makes me think it could not be what I require. If it is possible to connect it with SATA cables or via an adapter then fine but once I have opened it I can't return it.

Answer

You'll need an M.2 port on the motherboard otherwise you'll need an ordinary Sata SSD. Have a look at this.

Looks like I have bought the wrong thing then, my fault for not reading it properly. I shall return it and be more careful in future.
