A PSP comes with wifi and - off the top of my head as my PSP is at home - you can set it to either ad hoc mode (for multiplayer games) or infrastructure mode. In the latter it will scan for wireless networks and offer to join any open ones. It supports WEP and WPA, as far as I remember, and if your router has MAC address filtering switched on, you'll need to add the PSP's MAC address to that list. You don't need any extra hardware to connect it to a network.
