Hello everyone,

on my PC over the years ive been collecting mp3's and now have a sizable collection. Now my 10yrs son has asked if he can listen to some of the music. So what i want to know is can i protect the music (possible by making them read only) preventing him from inadventently deleting it or moving it.
The music is stored within 'my music' under my administrator log on, and my son has he's own log on with limited rights.
Any help much appreciated.

is that a collection which has taken years to acquire should be backed up - don't entrust it solely to a hard drive, because sooner or later there'll be a disaster.

Back your collection up, and then let your son listen to the music, or copy the relevant tracks to CDs and let him listen to those.
