The PC will be used for general office work and bulk photo processing using Photoshop, as well as a few games (not cutting edge). The general idea is to have a quiet PC that will last for 5 years + without any of the components becoming a liability.

The thinking behind 16GB RAM rather than 8GB is so that I can use 8GB sticks so as not to take up space for the future at a cost of only around £30 more than buying 8GB to start with. The thinking behind the 2GB GPU is that it is only approx £5 more than the equivalent 1GB version.

Are there any obvious incompatibilities here, or any component that is too good or too poor for the rest of the components? If I purchase all these, am I likely to get cables or will I need to purchase SATA cables seperately.

Is there anything I may have overlooked? I already have a copy of Windows 8 pro.

Looks a nice build and yes you will get the cables you need, if my memory serves Asus include 4 Sata cables in there mobos. Don't forget thermal paste for the CPu/Evo.

Cannot see anything you have missed.

I've got thermal paste on my list.
