Some programmes connect to the internet for updates.
You can configure your firewall setup to allow those programmes you wish to allow to connect and to block
those that you don't. For instance the REAL player
would connect to its home every time I use it but I have blocked it from doing this. Some of these progs
act as spyware and will report back to HQ on your browsing habits. i.e. sites visited etcetera. YOUR FIREWALL CAN BLOCK THIS.

frazzle123. You may have picked up some spyware. Playing a CD should not require access to an unknown
website. Run AD AWARE and SPYBOT to remove any unwanted applications. If you do not have a firewall installed then you do not know what programmes are connecting to the net without your knowledge.
