Sorry not to be more specific, others will be (I suspect)

I guess you have a motherboard that is just like that!

I had a pC chips MB that just would not see a 2400 as anything other than an 1800.

It is now at a friends running sadly under- clocked.

Maybe a bios flash?

Good luck, epirb.

go into the BIOS and change the setting in Frequency / Voltage Control to 133/133 press esc to exit and then F10 to save your settings.

Have you set FSB(front side bus) to 266Mz in BIOS

May also require change of multiplier

just looked in manual reagdind fsb in bios and the only setrtings i can see aree for viewing only and cannot be changed. the mobo is elite k7vta3

if u can't change any of the settings contact the motherboad manufacturer.

Does your motherboard support up to the AMD XP 2400? If yes then it may require a BIOS upgrade that will then let it recognise the processor. This happened to me with an older motherboard.

But in all honesty look in that BIOS for the system settings and set frequency to 133 (which results in a 266 Front Side Bus) and then set the multiplier to 15 which will give the correct clock speed of the processor. The default voltage on these amd xp processors is 1.65 Volts (I think).

Therefore, at 1.65 Volts you will get this
133Frequency x 15.0 Multiplier = 2000Mhz which is the clock speed of the AMD XP 2400.

This is only advice and alter at your own risk.
