Problems with Windows Update

Vista 32

I have twice intalled new Windows updates and both times my broadband connection was wiped out. I couldn't get this bsck although my modem appeared to be OK. In the end I used a restore point to get things back to the way they were.

The updates were
KB890830 malicious software removal tool
KB905866 mail junk e-mail
KB946041 vista update

Does any body have any ideas about this? Which update could be causing this? How do I update and then connect again?

Many thanks

When installing the updates, briefly disable your anti virus and if using a third party firewall...same goes for that.

You maybe better installing one at a time from the MS update page and see what happens...this will at least tell you the buggy update.

Eash update installed will create a restore point so you can go back if one fails. check update history as u go.
