Problems viewing DVD's on PC

  SpyMan²°°³ {:o)){--< 15:09 12 May 2003

I have problems viewing DVD's on my PC such that the picture sometimes sticks in a particular place for a while and sometimes just keeps jerking.

It happened while watching chicken run and one hour photo but not while watching any of the two american pies.

My PC surpasses the minimum spec to run a DVD.

I run WINXP and use Power DVD software, although i tried WMplayer and still had the same problems.

I disabled antivirus and my firewall, still the same.

My other slower computer runs DVD's far better.

Enabling DMA doesn't appear to be in the options

Please help!

Have you tried the DVDs in a domestic player to determine if the DVDs are at fault. Also, if you can try someone else's PC DVD player.

I had the same problem last week....Thought my dvd drive was on it`s way out, went & bought a new one, then decided to just change the settings from slave to master & it worked fine.
