Problems with Video card drivers (GTX560Ti series)

Hello! Recently I had my motherboard replaced (Intel for AMD) since my last one got fried because of bad electricity. The new one works great. Only problem I have is my video card. When I downloaded and installed a game it said that it can`t be launched because there is no direct 3d device. I checked in dxdiag and under the directx section there is apsolutely no information and under its features it says "not available". I tried to install drivers from CD (my video card is nvidia GTX560Ti) and then update it to latest version of drivers and...still nothing! Please help.

P.S could this be linked to a fact that I can`t update my windows? It gets stuck on "checking for updates" but that is a different issue?
