I cannot shut down my pc. When i try to shut down my pc freezes, and i have to switch off the power.

I have looked on the microsoft website but no luck.

It may well be a software issue here...I had this once, I downloaded the latest the drivers/software for my modem and all seemed ok. I also found that Norton firewall hung the pc alot at the shut down stage. Since moved to AVG, and BB I have no problems now.

So you could try the following:
Post back with spec of your PC, including manufactureres i.e MSI,ASUS etc, just to see if there is any known issues.

In ther meantime you can go to MS and download all the updates and SP1 if you havn't already!??

My Mesh PC specs are:-

ASUS A7V8X motherboard
Athalon xp2400 processor
ATI Radeon 9700 graphics card
Soft56 Speakerphone CARP modem

I recently installed a driver for a Saitek P3000 wireless gamepad, maybe this is causing problems?

If you need any more info please post.

I hope i can sort this out its a real pain.
