problems with rescue cds.

i've just downloaded both the avg rescue cd, and also the kaspersky version too.

however when i try to open either file so i can continue with the process, i get this message:
'no registered application for this extension.'

does anyone here know what this means at all?

thank you.

If I remember correctly, both these downloads are .iso files. These don't operate within a Windows environment and that's why you're getting the message when you try and open them. What you need to do is create a bootable CD using whatever burning software you've got to "Burn image file" using the iso.
Then reboot the system with the CED in place and assuming you're PC is set to boot from the disk drive it'll boot into the rescue CD which has it's own interface.
