problems playing avi's

My friend gave me a cd which she had some avi files on for me to watch. They work OK on her computer, but on mine I jusdt hear the sound but no picture. I am only using media player that came with WinME, is that the problem?? Is there a better nedia player that will solve this?

In media player have you ticked the associated files so that it recognises avi format.

avi 'contains' the video if you like, but the actual format will most likely be divX,or if not then Xvid.

all you need is to install the correct codec. click here
