  annaken 14:03 26 Mar 2013

I have had problems opening up any MS office documents. So i called Mcfee and they checked my laptop by remote and said there were no virus present. So i uninstalled the MS office suite and reinstalled it. I still cant open any documents-any ideas what it could be please?

Operating system?

Version of MS office?

Is it just word documents or excel / powerpoint etc. as well.

Open word and then go to Office button - Open and then select and open the document.

If that works, right click on the save document, go to Properties, under General tab click on Change and choose “Microsoft Word 2007” and click on Apply and OK.

Also try downloading and installing the MS Office 2007 Converter Package.

This will help read older Office files created in older versions of Office (97-2003):-

absolutely nothing happens when i click on word -a part from it trying to open and then stopping.

some doc where created pre 2007 and others post. However, its only 4 days ago that i started to experience problems, prior to that it worked fine
