Problems getting a wired connection to my PC

Hi, so I have recently moved home and have my pc set up upstairs, which can only be connected to the internet with a wired connection. I tried using power line adapters, but they will not connect as they are on separate wiring circuits. I cannot move the router upstairs, so my only remaining option is to fork out for a desktop wifi booster that comes with ethernet ports, and does not require to be plugged in. Unless there are any power line adapters that work across multiple circuits that anyone knows of? Also, I am aware of the option of making my pc able to connect wirelessly, but I know that the wifi isn't stable enough for online gaming without an ethernet connection, so I would rather just keep the connection wired.

hi deerboo you are wrong about wifi hubs not being good enough for gaming , I used a 10 year old linksey dongle on my spare pc for games if the wife want to work on my main one , I only have 1 printer and its on usb.

its a case of you get what you pay for you need to look at the specs of a product. the first linksey I got did not have a tick in the box for suitable for gaming , I should have taken my reading glasses with me lol.

the important thing to remember is when setting up wifi you need the wifi unit as close to your router/hub as you can get it , this will guarantee it locking onto the strongest possible signal , you can of course move it to a different room after set up if you want to..... don't forget to use the code to lock your signal to prevent unauthorised use of your set up.

MJS WARLORD, I think you misunderstood me. I was saying that MY wifi isn't stable enough for ONLINE gaming, not in general. In regards to the 'linksey' product you mentioned, I presume you mean linksys? That does not help my situation, thanks though.
