Problem with Windows Media Player

Hello

Thank you for looking at my problem.

I have just installed the new Windows Media Player v9

I can play some file types buit I cannot play the file extension called "video clip".

This file extension is not listed in the file type recognised by WMP iteself, can anyone suggest a solution to this problem please.

"Video clip" is not a file type, just a description; the file type is likely to be MPEG4 (or its variants), Real Media, maybe AVI and possibly WMV. But the last two certainly can be played in all forms of WMP.

By the way, ver9 is not the latest; ver10 is the current issue.

Without knowing more about this file, I cannot advise further. You may need to use an alternative player or perhaps visit FreeCodecs.com as per VoG's linked thread.

I think version 9 is the highest supported by win98 edennorman does not specify his O/S
