  carper 11:32 21 Nov 2014

Hi, I have just carried out some updates and find I have been lumbered with a browser called Volteran. I have tried to uninstall this using Revo uninstaller and also on the control panel page followed by a restart. I also cannot get back to my Firefox start page. Any help greatly appreciated I am running Window 8.1 Regards Carper

Download and run ADWCleaner, - let it scan and accept recommendations - restart and scan with Malawarebytes also.

AS an alternative you could try a system restore to before the problem arose.

When you download updates don't click on the automatic update ,click on custom that way you won't automatically download most of this crudware.

I've been reinstalling lots of Freeware after a clean Windows 7 install.

Most seems now to have changed to hiding the PUPs under Custom Install options.

Even Authors' downloads are also hiding stuff.

Most Download sites seem to adopt these practices too.
