problem with sound driver

i had to wipe my hard disk as mm sound driver msteriously vanished i went on it again and it came back as soon as i updated m laptop and started to go online a error message came up and i couldnt go online and my sound driver went again i tried recovering it a few times but its happining every time thanks for taking time to read and a bigger thanks if you can help me

Firstly do you have a drivers and utilities disc may be called motherboard disc....if so run this and install the audio driver.


Goto Device Manager..
Windows key+Pause/Hardware/Device Manager now look for any yellow exclaimation marks,you may have an error code (such as code 28)

If no joy run Belarc click here and post back the motherboard details,you may need to run Everesthome to get better clarification of the motherboard click here

Also worth a try is running the codec pack, you may have missing or broken audio codecs click here

First thing to do is update with Microsoft updates.

Download the service pack of updates,you are currently using sp1 when you should be using sp2 click here

Assuming windows xp.
