problem logging into online bank

I have recently got a new computer and am having problems with logging into my online bank (Natwest).
I can access the homepage, but when I click on "login" the window closes altogether (not even an error message)
My OS is now XP was previously Windows 98.
I am using the same Antivirus (AVG) and the same Firewall (Zonealarm) as on the old computer.

any help appreciated.

Have the bank provided you with some special software to install, or are you just trying to log in via their website ?

I had the same problem. Try turning off the pop up blocker and putting bank into allowed sites.

to rmcqua - no software, just logging in via website.

Although this subject is marked closed I had the same here Natwest Help person suggested turn off cookies while on line to Bank and if that didnt help access the site from the homepage

I tried that first. I put this problem into the search forum and somebody has solved the problem that way. But for some reason it didn't do the trick on mine.
Fortunately IPA's solution worked.
