problem installing epsonc44ux on winxp

can anyone help me.....
when installing c44ux it keeps installing it to lpt1 and not recognising that it is connected to usb port????

It sounds like you have let Hardware Wizard load drivers. Are you using USB

hi, i've same printer no probs--click start, then printers and faxes-----right click on your printer and properties, then click the port tab and select bottem option which is usb

hi Tony have tried this but on port tab it only has ltp1 2 & 3 and com ports 1 2 3 & 4

Try this remove Printer from Add Remove Programs, Remove all USB from Device Manager and restart computer without the printer connected. Allow Windows to configure USB before connecting printer, connect printer and switch on, when Hardware Wizard pop's up to say new hardware found cancel it, then put the printer CD in and load drivers and software. Before doing the above also make shure you remove printer folder from Windows Explorer

faster way, unplug usb from hub wait a few seconds then plug back in (windows will find epson c44ux stright away)problem over

hi woodchip if i uninstall usb ,when windows finds them again will i then have to reinstall ntl broadband and webcam too?

it does find c44 straight away but when i try to install it,it installs it staight to ltp1 and doesnt seem to recognise that it is a usb printer
