A friend has had problems connecting to the internet over the past month. He started on AOL dial up and it seemed to connect but took an eternity to load AOL's home page.After that when he tried to navigate it seemed to disconnect.AOL said his modem was broken. So he upgraded to AOL broadband. He still has the same symptoms.Any ideas on what I should be looking for?He's running Win XP home.Thanks.
Who provided the modem and installation instructions for broadband, and what make is the modem?
Scan for viruses and spyware, clear out the temporary internet files (cache).
