Problem Capturing for Hitachi MV1000E

  calluminmk 12:42 25 Sep 2005

we have recently aquired a Hitachi DVD camcorder for work usage.

We have shot a 1 minute peice of test footage on the camera and that is it.

We first tried to use the USB connection to connect the camcorder to our laptop (WinXP sp2,1gb ram, 800mhz) but we keep on getting 'device not connected errors whenever we try to capture in any piecee of software. We have installed ll of the drivers twice and sill no luck.

Then we used our Aver Ezmaker USB 2.0 capture hardware to try and capture the footage in Win Movie Maker, although we got an image and sound, we have only got a Black nd White picture. We have played with all of the settings and it seems that we can only capture in NTSC mode and PAL wont apply and stay applied.

Can anybody Help?
Thanks in advance

Does the camera have a firewire connection?

yes, but neither our pc or laptop have one..
but it doesnt matter now, due to the fact that we bought every type of DVD-RAM in comet, and in the end we managed to get a dual sided sony one to work properly, so we then used the basic USB cable to transfer the footage and it worked in colour..

Thanks for the help anyway
