I just upgraded my PC from 512 of ram to 1G.On bootup PC is on but will not boot into windows...monitor mouse etc not recognised. If I switch off at rear of PC and boot again it will go into windows and work ok.This though repeats itself so will only boot every other time.Any advice please?
Which version of Windows? XP OK but earlier versions limited to 512 MB.
Windows XP Home VoG.
What OS are you using, win 98 and Me do not like more than 512 RAM!
Before booting into Windows I get the following warning....Your FSB SDRAM frequency may have changed.Any clues as what to do next?
Right not sure if this is right but it now boots into Windows everytime ok.......In MY COMPUTER under PROPERTIES it showed (before upgrade)...INTEL (R)PENTIUM (R) 2.66GHz2.68GHz, 512GB OF RAMAfter the upgrade and when the problem started it showed the 2.68GHz as 2.67GHz. 1G OF RAMSo in BIOS I changed the CPU/DRAM frequency ratio to 4:5.This put the 2.67GHz back to 2.68GHz and booting ok.The only thing that worries me now though is before I changed the DRAM frequency it showed as 200MHz now it shows as 167MHz.
Oops double post? Sorry.
