Problem with Acronis and recovering files

Hi, I have ATI 2017. Am I getting the wrong end of the stick? Basically, I'm backing up my V drive to an external Seagate D drive. When attempting to recover a file to see if it works, I had assumed that when I selected 'Recover files', I would be able to select the path to the D drive and then select a file I wished to recover.

Instead, the path is My Computer > V. Is this the actual V drive itself, or is it the backed up version on D?

According to the Help file, I should also be able to double click the back up in Explorer and select the file from there. All I get is a blank screen and the egg timer.

Any suggestions, please?
