Probably a 'no,' but...

Do you think PC World would allow me to install a piece of software (a game) on one of their computers to see how it can cope running it, or am I just delusional?

Well, I know someone who asked and got away with it in the Staples Corner Branch in North London. Why not ask if you can find a reasonably knowledgeable member of staff.

Ask them. But I doubt it.

Well those answers are slightly better than I was expecting! I was thinking of a "What? Are you mad?" genre of response :P

Thanks again

If it is a branded CD, and especially one they sell, I don't see why not. Hint at a sale!

If they say NO, Just say Thanks, But no thanks, I'm Spending my Hard Earned elsewhere.

It's up to them to Persuade you to spend your cash at their shop. If you say, I have this PC (and pont to it) and i want to see it (the game) in action, the ball is in their court. make a sale, or not. Up to the staff.
