I have posted this the other day but it seems to have vanished.

2 PC's both w10, I just want to set up printer sharing but have failed to do so no matter what I try.

Both PCs are wired to router by ethernet. Printer is installed on PC1 and wired USB to PC1.

All the settings appear correct but when I try to print from 2nd PC it gets as far as saying "Sending Test Page" and that's it.

Do you have the pc set up as a home group?

if not then On PC1 with the printer, Device and Printers in Control Panel, right click the printer you want to share, select See what's printing, Select Printer from the menu, select sharing or share this printer, enable the checkbox that reads share this printer.

I have the printer set to sharing and have carefully followed an online video step by step and believe that I have the right settings but am willing to check anything that I may have missed or got wrong.

I would rather use a homegroup and enable all sharing but I can't do that either.

In case it is relevant this is a fairly new router 6wks and this is my first attempt at using it for sharing.
