Printer advice

  marbleblue 19:02 05 Oct 2006

Im looking to get a light-duty printer. Brand & initial cost isn't as important to me, what I'm really looking at is the cost & availability of the ink. Im open to all options, so chuck advice this-a-way!

Well my advice ignore Lexmark, good printer but at £12 for a black cartridge thats been remade it quickly costs more to run than buy it.

I`ve got a Lexmark and I`ve had an Epson. I`d go back to an Epson tomorrow, but from reading this forum you`ll find that HP and Canon probably work out better and most of us get cartridges from Choice.

I don't really understand the inner workings of laser printers. Could you possibly give me some more general info?

Also anyone got any reliability info on the model Diodorus Siculus is suggesting, or Samsungs in general?

Thanks :)

I have been happy with Canon printers, my present one has been going for over 3 years and generic cartridges are about £2 - £5 depending on source.

This is a mono (black) printer so if you want colour ignore it.

Samsung produces some good laser printers - they are reliable and good quality.
