pre-dial terminal screen

When I connect to the internet, a separate black window appears before any connection is made. It is called "pre-dial terminal". Once I click on "OK", the modem dials the connection. How do I get rid of this pre-dial terminal?

In WIN 95/98

Double Click My Computer
Double Click Dial-Up Networking
Right Click the internet connection and Left Click on Properties
Click on the Configure Button / Tab
Click on the Options Tab
Remove the tick in the box that says Bring up a terminal window before dialling
Click OK and Close the Dial-Up Networking Window.

Unfortunately, I am using XP Home.
I get the drift of what you are saying, but cant find the relevant place to uncheck the box!! Doh!

1. Open Network Connections.

2. Click the dial-up connection on which you want to use Terminal Window.

3. Under Network Tasks, click Change settings of this connection.

4. On the Security tab, under Interactive logon and scripting, deselect the Show terminal window check box.

hey, we're making some progress here!!.....

However, the box is already unchecked!!

Maybe I'll check it... then click OK.
Then reboot, and go in and uncheck it again... what do you think?

Ye, try that! Otherwise i have no ideas...Im only 14!

Perhaps something else in the registry tells it to open the window...?

No, the pre-dial screen still comes up even with the box unchecked... I checked the box, clicked ok... rebooted.... unchecked the box... clicked ok... then rebooted (again).... Help!!
