hi. does anyone have any views on the powerstation pc that time are offering for £799. its been advertised in the papers lately. i'm not very knowledgeable about computers and would appreciate some advice.

I've not seen it - why not post a detailed specification list here and people can comment on it.

Just check the spec of all the components - eg 64mb graphics can mean a variety of things from very good to useless, depending on what you want from the machine. Similarly, 17inch monitors vary greatly in quality of image.

If you do want to go for it, be sure to get a detailed spec from Time and see how the components measure up to what is available.

As a last point, have a look at reviews of other Time machines - they don't often seem to figure highly in top ten charts at any budget level.

looks a nice price and spec. But NO monitor. add bout 200 quid on to that.

the main unit is AMD XP2600+, 160GB 7200 ATA100 HARD DISK:16X DVD ROM, DVD-R DVD-RW RE-WRITER +CD REWRITER: 1024 DDR 333 MEMORY: GEFORCE 128MB GRAPHICS CARD: MULTI INTERGRATED MEMORY CARD READER FOR YOUR DIGITAL CAMERA: 10/100 ETHERNET
5 USB PORTS. 2 FIREWIRE PORTS: WIRELESS KEYBOARD + MOUSE. WINDOWS XP HOME.
