Im thinking of adding powerline to my network set up.The reason for doing this,is when playing video on the network and while others in the house are surfing, the router crashes and needs to be rebooted(only when playing video or transferring large files).Im looking at the 85mb or 200mb type.
Im struggling to get my head round certain aspects
would this solve the crashes?.Would changing the wireless router to wireless n be a better option?
Current set up....Im on cable broadband, via motorolla surfboard modem.
A starcom swb5400 router is connected via etherent(also has usb).Desktop pc is connected to etherent port on router. Then 3 laptops/netbooks wirelessly.
I appreciate the powerline is dependant on the quality of wiring.Any advice welcome.

Playing video on one PC while surfing on the other shouldn't cause any problems for a router, can you borrow another router to see if it cures the problem.
