power supply

simple question hopefully? does the size of the power supply make any difference to the computer

yes it does

The larger the power supply the more peripherals you can run. HDD's, Floppy, CD-RW's, CD-ROM etc etc

For an estimate of the size of supply your computer needs, look at this site click here. If your computer is working happily with it's power supply, then it won't work any better with a more powerful one. However a larger supply will probably have more efficient cooling and so should run cooler, but it MAY also have a noisier fan. Some recent power supplies have large diameter fans fitted to handle the higher power levels without the noise penalty.

Interesting question and answer addind to my file.

Some PSU's dont have problems with the power outage's (More expensive one's).

Also some are dual fan, so they spin a bit slower.. Thus less noise...

All dependent on the make of the PSU though..
