Post screen delay, only recently started

Morning folks
My desktop has just recently started hanging for a minute or so on boot. It is dwelling on 'Initialising USB devices' prior to locating drives and continuing boot.
I have no new or different USB devices mounted that have not been there for months, so I'm confused as to why it has suddenly started doing this.
Boot continues without any issue, but it is just taking a fair bit longer now.

Any thoughts?

Running Vista Ultimate in case it's relevant

Have you tried the obvious? Disconnect each of the USB devices that you do have one by one and reboot?

That is my plan for weekend when I have more time, especially as last night I had error message appear telling me one of my USB devices is not working correctly on port 4, so I plan to try and find out which USB port is number 4. That's the first error message I have had, but it gives me a clue as t where to look.

Turned out to be bluetooth dongle, yanked it out and boot is back to normal now.
