Pop-up stopper

Any recommendations for a free programme which will stop pop-ups. Does running one of these mean that you can't shift-click to open a new window?

Thanks in advance

I use the Google toolbar to do this and it seems to work perfectly for me.

I can recommend the Netcaptor Web Browser. It includes a pop-up killer and is good in other ways.

Like most of the other replies I'd recommend the Google toolbar, makes searches easier as well.

I take it you like the google toolbar then ;-)

Have to agree with you there, and you get the added bonus of google search one click away

Now then, with AOL you get a pop-up stopper and google too!

Works for me 8o)

What I like best is you can unlock the toolbar and move the Google Toolbar up to the top line then lock the toolbar again and it does'nt take up any extra space on your browser window, you have also got plenty of options to configure it too. Plus if you miss the pop-ups you can click to show them again just to remind ourself how annoying they can be and what a fantastic tool Google Toolbar is.
