Pop Up Madness

Hi all,

Recently had the Virus Protect Pro counterfeit spyware appear on my system tray, after buying Spyhunter in a panic and running numerous other free system checking apps to no effect managed to find reference on a forum to Smitfraudfix which successfully removed the icon, yet I still got pop ups.

Ran the program again, followed by AVG Anti-spyware, deleting Internet Explorer and installing Mozilla Firefox (all in safe mode, no transferral of temp/history files) followed by reboot, and I am STILL getting popups.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I have recommended SAS Superantispyware lots of times and it has not failed YET?

First Delete All Temp Internet Files and All Cookies,

Then.

Download this Free Antispyware {Superantispyware} Before using the Antispyware for the first time check for any updates.

Hope this does the job,

Thank for the response, but already given that one a try. No system restore points are usable either, although now it appears after the combo of Firefox and removing internet explorer the pop ups have gone down in number, although I am experiencing random crashes of the browser.

Hi, just tried to install Hijackthis and got an error-

"f:\Program Files\Hijackthis\HijackThis.exe

An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory:
Movefile failed; code 5.
Access is denied.

Click retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file (not recommended), or Abort to cancel installation."

Any ideas?
