Poor Playback quality

When I play a dvd on my PC the picture quality is poor. The icons on my desktop look fine. I have changed different screen resolutions to no avail. I know its not the film because it has been tried on another PC.

Can anyone help please.

I can only suggest it may be the program you are using to watch it. Perhaps the other PC you saw it on was using a different program.

I have tried Media player and Power DVD.

have you tried reloading the video drivers.

Didn't think media player played DVDs. That aside is everything else ok with your computer, graphically I mean. You could try deleting and reinstalling Power DVD that should reset it at the defaults on the off chance that either part of its corrupted or some of the settings have been changed. Your computer I presume is fast enough to play DVDs and used to play them before did it? Have you also tried another DVD just to confirm that it isn't the DVD itself?
