Is it an AMD (Athlon or Duron) or a Pentium (III or 4)?

Why do you want a new heatsink? They don't wear out. If you need a replacement fan, you get these from the heatsink manufacturer or their agent.

The sure way of doing this is to look on the processor or heatsink manufacturers website and act on their recommendation.

If you want more advice here on this, we must have a lot more information about your processor.

Ebuyer offer a range of heatsinks and fans for various procesors:

Global Win WBK-38 (Skt A)

on my Athlon XP1700 and it keeps the CPU minimum at 42oC and maximum 52oC. I think this is a fair average.

Should mention that I used Coolermaster Thermal Compound between heatsink & CPU.

I usually get coolermaster heatsinks. I find them to be excellent value.

What's the processor that you're using?
