What OS, what mobo, what mouse, what keyboard????

Seeing F2/F11 choice is normal.

I may not be able to help you myself, but those who are able to help, need all the information you can give.

Try uninstalling ALL your USB Ports in Devices, then do a normal re-start of your PC - this should re-set the USB ports, hopefully enabling USB items to operate as normal.

Good point, silly me .... you could try using PS/2 mouse and keyboard.

Assuming that all your hardware is in good working order, I would guess incorrect connection(s) somewhere.

Needs someone more able than myself from this point on ... good luck anyway, I am sure someone else will soon add their thoughts.

I found USB keyboards can be a bit hit and miss during the boot process, at certain periods in the proceedure they don't work. Try reading through this post (click here) it's another post on these forums with a similar problem, the advice suggesting a BIOS reset may be of help, a PS/2 keyboard to access the BIOS may also be of some help, assuming you have a PS/2 socket on the mobo that is.
