Ping of Death

My Firewall (Sygate 5.6) has just reported:

Denial of Service "Ping of Death" attack detected.

I've never seen it before and Sygate informs me :In a Ping of Death attack, the hacker uses a packet with a size that is larger than the normal standard. When your system encounters a packet of this size, it often crashes, hangs, or reboots.

Denial of Service Major Incoming
ICMP 217.47.158.142

However I'm still confused about where it originated. It was a single occurance.

Goooogle give 3,020,000 entries for ping of death. I'm sure you will find something there.

€dstowe - quite! I Googled and was overwhelmed. I was hoping someone had read the 3 million entries, digested the information and could offer some thoughts.
