Ping command - query

  Happy37 20:23 07 Jan 2010

Hi all

Is there such a way so that I can set a ping command:-

ping 123.456.78.102 -t (example)

to run from a shortcut when I click the shortcut icon itself on the Desktop?

Can this be done easily, please?

Ideally, I would like to be able to click the icon and the ping command should start running to ping the IP address that I want to ping.

Thanks in advance.

is it the same address you want to ping everytime.

Just create a batch file in Notepad, save it as a .bat file, not a text file, to the desktop (or whereever you want) and doubleclick it when you need it.

ping www.

google is just an example

Right click on desktop, New->Shortcut
In the first window put
ping 123.456.78.102 (or whatever you want to ping)
click on next
in the second one put the name you want the shortcut to have. It will probably name it 'ping.exe' by default
