photo printing

  kissag 14:39 01 Nov 2005

I used to have a good printing software programme that would snap to 4 prints on an A4 size paper automatically but seem to have lost it.

I would also like to print to 6"x4" size photo paper without having to correct the size of the print each time.

Does anyone know of a suitable programme or programmes available to cover both the above, either freeware, shareware or full programme.

Download picasa2 or Irfanview, both give option of multi-pic pages printing.

How? I've been looking for an option in Irfanview to do that....

to do it in Irfanview, is via Thumbnails...

Open Irfanview then press T

This opens the thumbnails display. Navigate to desired folder and thumbnails displaed on right hand side...

Select thumbnail images and from File menu choose "Created Contact sheet from selected thumbs"

The dialogue that appears has lots of options.

SO it can be doe in IrfanView... but I'd suggest that for this task it's rather unwieldy...

Of course there may be a better method?

Epson Photoquicker is also a good print program. You don't have to have an Epson printer, it works with any printer.

You have a choice of 1, 2, 4, 8 or an Index print with 20, 40 or 80 on an A4 sheet.

It is free to download from the Epson site:

If you are running XP the printer wizard from My Pictures can create a choice of several layouts, including 4 different, 4 same, and contact prints.

All very easy and useful

Thanks for your prompt replies folks, as I am using an Epson printer I have downloaded the photquicker software and it is ideal for my purposes.
