Photo enhancement soft wear

I do a lot of photo editing but I am having trouble finding professional photo enhancement soft wear.
If any one could point me in-the way of a good package I will be grateful

I get the impression that if you have to ask, you don't really need such as Photoshop. I use PS CS2 and can assure you no other program comes close, so I would suggest Elements 3 which would give you a good start on the road to Photoshop. However before spending money, have a look at Photofiltre, it's free for private use. click here. I have now removed all my other editing suites in favour of this one, with the exception of photoshop.

Photo Filtre looks very interesting. I have just downloaded it, and it appears to be a doddle to use.
