Phone wiring to headpohne/mik set

  jack 14:48 07 Apr 2008

I have a redundant headphone microphone set with the phones and Mike each ending in the standard 3.5 mm jack.
I though could I wire this to a BT431A plug thence into a double to that I can have 'hands free' telephone.
I have found an old phone with plug and lead and salvaged the lead.
The wires on this are solid red/ black /green/ yellow.
These colours do not correspond to any layout that I have so far managed to down load from places such as

So any clues please

Hmm, why go to all that bother, when hands-free telephones are so readily available already.

I wouldn't think it'll work anyway - they're totally different things (a headset and a telephone) for totally different purposes, and they use the wiring in a different manner.

Also, there's ringing voltages involved, which might well damage a headset anyway.

What you need is a Speaker Phone

Oh well I though it was a good idea at the time
