How do i stop my DVD-RW from bouncing on the mechanical stops and closing before i get a chance to put a disc in.
Is this a common complaint or are Phillips burners just cheap tat?

I have an old ASUS that does that occasionally, and they certainly are poorly built. I have a Pioneer that is much better quality.

My dvd player does this. Kids think it's funny when I try to put a disk in and it closes on me.

Last time I got hold of the remote and kept jigging the drawer in and out on the missus when she went to put a film on.

One of my drives on the PC is a Philips and it's great, quiet and reliable. Could there be any foreign material that's got inside the unit, that's what I think about my dvd player?
