Permission to save image chandes in D:/

help please could someone explain what the statement in qoutation marks means -

I have photographs saved to RW CDs. I open them and can edit them (in elements for eg) but cannot save the changes to the CD, I get the following message -

"You do not have permission to save in this directory see the sdministrator to obtain permission would you like to save in my docs?"

I can save into My Docs.
I have not set any administrator settings that I am aware of.

Thanks for looking.

Hi, afraid I don't have the answer, but you are not alone. I have looked through a few of these from Google, but have not seen any with a straight answer ... perhaps you will have better luck.

Further to my query I have now found that if the image is sent to CD using the Copy command (ie NOT drag and drop) then there is no problem and the image can be re edited and resaved to CD ?
Does this make any sense Technotiger?

It does indeed make sense of sorts, I can understand why but not how. Anyway, as long as it works, don't knock it :-)

Well done on solving it yourself.
