In my windows/temp folder there are a large number of files perfib_perfdata followed by a number. All are 16kb. Does anybody know what these are and is it safe to delete them

A Perflib_Perfdata.dat file is created when you are using some sort of performance measuring programme eg. a programme that monitors memory usage. Normally they are deleted when you quit the programme.

You can delete them as long as they are not currently being used. If they are currently being used you'll get a message to that effect when you try to delete them.
