PDFs won't open but will save

  hallgreen 22:47 29 Jan 2010

If I try to open a PDF file in IE or Google crome it will open a new window but will be blank. Yet if I save it it will work and I can then open the saved document. I'm confused and as I don't know much about computers I thought I ask those that do!

Many thanks.

Download and install Foxit (Free), you will then be able to read your PDF.

PS - IE and Google are not PDF Readers.

There must be a PDF Reader installed or the saved PDF document could not be opened.

Thanks all. I have downloaded Foxit and it works, there is a PDF reader installed but for some reason it only opens saved ones. I think I'll quit will I'm ahead and sue the Foxit one as it's working.

Thanks for all the help.

In IE go to Tools - Internet Options - Advanced tab and scroll down to "Enable third-party browser extensions" - make sure it is ticked and click Apply and OK.

I hope you're not going to "sue Foxit" :@)

Thanks. It was

Freudian slip or more likely just bad spelling and bad typing!

Glad it's sorted - Foxit is much better than Adobe in my opinion.

And I agree with Sea Urchin, re Foxit/Adobe!

Anyway, glad you are happy with Foxit.
