PDF file download problem

  jack 17:39 28 Jun 2010

I am trying to download a PDF form.
It struggles to down load then I get a message reading
@Acrobtat Reader running cannot load from browser - Cloe Reader edit Browser and try again'
Or similar words.
At this point I have not got acrobat running, nor had I started it.
A check in task manager shows it is running.
So I stopped it. but the message repeats.
So I re booted. ensure the program was not loaded -
Still the message.
Whats to do?

Download Foxit Reader click here and use that to open your PDF file, if that works OK dump Acrobat Reader.

Worked a treat
I previously removed Acrobat - restarted, read your post downloaded and Whoppee - A form to fill in.

"At this point I have not got acrobat running, nor had I started it".

When you try to download the PDF form your system will start the PDF Reader in order to open your form.

I deduced that is what was happening
Yet another case of 'Bloatware'

I am not bothered now - but hopefully one can edit Acrobat to stay 'passive' until called.
So much of this type of programing is in conflict with other applications that need to run at the same time.
