PCA site & my PC crash together?

  Peverelli 10:20 22 Oct 2003

What happened last night? At 23:05 Tuesday evening IE6 froze while loading up a page from this site. Then a loud thud sounded from the speakers and my PC crashed. It took about 15 minutes to get it up and running again and when I got back here, the site was down. Coincidence?

I have 6 error entries in event viewer timed at 23:05, all saying

"Event Type: Error

Sorry, formatting hasn't come out well. In amongst the previous message it says, "File "C:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs\HOME.ldb" was corrupt and has been deleted."

I have also noticed that since last night's crash, the date is not displayed any more when I place the cursor over the clock.

You've got to wonder. Have you noticed how many regulars have not posted this morning? Prolly 1000+ machines blown up at the same time.

I'm not joking, they are not here are they? Surely woody, djohn et al would have said something about the mishap by now. This place has become dangeroius :O)

well i'm glad i went to bed early for once

True Vector Engine is a part of ZA.I also found server error messages when trying to access this site lastnite/this morning and it was 9:56 before I finally got onto PCA site.

PCA was like wading through treacle yesterday so didn't stay which was fortunate, OK now though. Don't like the new(est) layout - too wide for me.

  roy 12:01 22 Oct 2003

I was not on to this site at 23.05 last night but can confirm that I could not access it at about 23.30pm. Seems ok now.

  sil_ver 12:23 22 Oct 2003

Perhaps FE got caught out as well. Don't see any post regarding site being down last night :-)

  Peverelli 12:35 22 Oct 2003

Rebooted my PC and have now got back the little descriptions when hovering the cursor over an icon (including the date when on the clock). Haven't noticed any other changes, so I think my PC has survived.

Mango G, the regulars are probably doing something daft, like working or visiting that strange world called 'outdoors' :O)

Well at least they work in sequence. You can't grumble

  woodchip 13:05 22 Oct 2003

I knew what had happened last night as the site was just not working right, just before it went puff.
