PCA Site

  smegs 11:32 12 Dec 2003

Hello all. Is anyone else have problems with the site? When I click on PCA in My Favorites Folder, I get the PCA site, then after a couple of secends I get another PCA site take-over. The original PCA site disappears, the next screen appears and theres all like AMD digital buttons at the top of the screen. Is anyone else getting this??

Afraid not - compared to last weekend it's going at warp speed

leo49, thanks for that. It only does it when I first go into the PCA site. Strange

I'm sure this was discussed as a thread some days ago - someone complained that the PCA was taking over their toolbars and caused instability - could this be the same thing?

As phil said above this has been discussed on a number of occasions. I have never seen this problem as I access this site via Opera.

I seem to recall that there is a button on the advert that you can click and you will never see the ad again

Thanks all, will have a look at what bremner has said. Thanks again.

Yeh. It was me - got my head bitten off by another forum member that was not having the best of days (I think we've patched it up since!). There are a few threads around including one from Guy warning that this was going to be tested. Apparently it only happens once - which in my book was quite enough as it caused the system to wobble while resizing was taking place. No permanent effects and no trouble since thank heavens - just a bit unexpected.

PA28, thanks for the Info, I'm getting it every time I want to go on the PCA site.

That doesn't sound right. Try coming out, clearing all your internet history, cookies, and temporary files. Then reconnect and see if matters improve. Reading other posts it seem that this only affects IE users (Opera seems to escape) and the normal pop-up blockers (Zone Alarm and a couple of hundred others!) are effective.

There is apparently a button on the pop-up which invites you to get the AMD slogan to go away (and never darken another day, I believe it says) but you have to look carefully by all accounts. Me, I never found it!

in tools/internet options/privicy/advanced

allow third party cookies

log in to PCA and opt out of the advert.

go back and block your third pty cookies again afterwards.

you should not see it again unless you delete the cookie.

This thread is now locked and can not be replied to.
