Better to check for loose connections of VGA card, RAM and etc.

Fans start but POST (no bleep) doesn't complete, is most likely a failed Power Supply Unit, especially with your previous symptoms.

ah ok thought it might be the power unit, i have a dell pc sitting in my attic, if i take the power unit from that and connect it to my current pc, is there any damage that could be done if it doesnt work?

Check the Watts printed on the PSU is as much or more. on the one you intend to try

same as the old one but its still not booting up and still no beep. is it because its a dell psu? and my comp isnt a dell.

What is you failed comp? AMD or Intel?
